Does your Firm’s Strategic Intent match your Tactical Expression in Value Creation ??
For 40 years I have traveled through markets in India and in more than 20 countries across the globe. Going through Bus shelters, Jetties, Train stations and Airports. Seeing Factories, Warehouses, Bazaars, Haats, Malls, Supermarkets, Flea markets, Kiranas, Self-help groups, Gas stations, Hospitals, Schools, Offices, Cities, Villages ……… and the rest. Meeting people from different places.
I have summarized my learning into a simple principle, to say : “People from a certain Place will have distinguishably specific Preferences. And if Products (and services) are offered to match such preferences, then Profits can be earned”. Its my simple 5P hypothesis…
PEOPLE -------> PLACE -------> PREFERENCE -------> PRODUCT -------> PROFIT
NOT understanding this principle and consequently NOT acting in accordance has given nightmares to a number of organizations that I have interacted and worked with. An Organization is perfect and a process is complete only when sustainability mechanisms are based on Value Monitoring and Value Co-creation.
